How is employment location measured?
This dashboard examines where students live and work after leaving formal education.
Talent Retention:
The percentage of students who have exited a Nebraska public postsecondary institution and are retained as employees in the state of Nebraska. Specifically, these are individuals with at least one year of employment in Nebraska within two years after their postsecondary exit. Individuals who do not meet this threshold are classified as “unknown” with respect to their employment location. This is because these individuals may be working in Nebraska, but in jobs that are not reported to the state’s unemployment insurance system, are working outside of Nebraska, or are unemployed. Due to data limitations, there is currently no viable way to distinguish between these categories.
